For the free trial-period that I used this software, it worked fine, but ironically ever since purchasing it, I'm finding frequent disconnects. I've since made a configuration change such that it reconnects automatically, but I truly did not have this problem previously. When I reached out to the developer, he opined it was just a coincidence. Is it just me, or are [14:47:21] others dropping/reconnecting here? [14:48:38] I don't have any issue with freenode. I have some ping timeout issues on other irc networks [14:50:36] lhodev: your timeouts say "Remote host closed the connection", so maybe your ISP/IT department has some kind of idle connection timeout? [14:50:45] although I'd expect the IRC ping/pong messages to prevent that from happening [14:54:30] Hmmm. I can't shake the "coincidence" of this occurrence since purchasing the software. I don't seem to have trouble with anything else. Does IRC have any kind of protocol for sending some kind of no-op periodically; i.e. a keepalive type of mechanism? I'm walking through Textual's prefs now.... [14:54:49] it's supposed to send ping messages periodically [14:54:56] which is effectively a keep-alive [14:58:14] In the Advanced preferences, I did find (and have checked) "Periodically PING the server to verify the connection". Unfortunately, there's no frequency parameter in the UI for me to specify. [14:58:53] I also have checked, "Force a disconnect when reachability changes." I wonder if I should uncheck that. [15:03:38] I unchecked that "Reachability changes" item. Theory: maybe the company proxy server incurs an occasional delay that's triggering this. Will see if that makes a difference. Apologies to all if you're being blasted with my connects/reconnects, and hopefully you're filtering them out :-/ [16:06:57] *** Quits: tomzawadzki (~tomzawadz@134.134.139.72) (Ping timeout: 240 seconds) [16:30:16] *** Joins: travis-ci (~travis-ci@ec2-54-161-193-191.compute-1.amazonaws.com) [16:30:17] (spdk/master) bdev/rpc: make get_bdevs_iostat name param optional (Daniel Verkamp) [16:30:18] Diff URL: https://github.com/spdk/spdk/compare/bcff4c89b89b...7f51e8e5e20b [16:30:18] *** Parts: travis-ci (~travis-ci@ec2-54-161-193-191.compute-1.amazonaws.com) () [20:57:22] how do we deprecate RPCs?
